Allen B. Chernenkoff Junior Representative
Educational background: One year of UT courses at Selkirk College in Castlegar, BC, followed by two years of General Sciences at UBC. Currently a 2nd year pharmacy student.
Goals for the year: As heir to the UBC CAPSI throne my primary goal this year is to learn extensively about the CAPSI Organization both locally and nationally, so that with the support of the Senior Representative I will mature into an experienced and diligent leader and liaison. Along with this, as my Junior Representative portfolio suggests, I am also responsible for successfully overseeing the CAPSI/Tilak Award of Professionalism Judging Committee , two CAPSI symposia, and the infamous CAPSI Jeopardy. On my personal agenda, I would like to assemble the largest group of UBC delegates for travel to Professional Development Week 2008 in Edmonton next January to represent the UBC faculty as a leader in passion for pharmacy and professionalism. In order to achieve this I will work closely with our appointed fundraisers to raise at least $3000 towards PDW 2008 travel subsidization. Another goal I hold this year is to bring more awareness to and opportunity for the pharmacy student body to get involved with CAPSI, in order to reveal to pharmacy students what vast opportunities their degrees will liberate to them and how much fun their time at UBC can be.
Interest in pharmacy: Slightly leaning towards hospital but still brand new and looking to experience all aspects of pharmacy before I make my decision.
When I have free time: I do imitations of Roberto Luongo and Kirk McLean as goaltender of the UBC Pharmacy Walker Texas Rangers in the local Bodin-Ball hockey intermurals. I also enjoy long walks on the fairways of the local golf courses and spending time with friends outside of Woodward and Cunningham. |
